Our staff of licensed therapists is committed to truly making a difference in the lives of others every day. Our therapists are here to support and guide you to develop greater self-awareness, inner resources such as self-compassion and coping skills, and more conscious, close, connected, relationships.
I deeply honor the therapeutic relationship by maintaining the conditions for trust, integrity, and compassion. Through a person-centered approach, I keep a non-judgmental perspective, free of criticism. As we work together, I will assist you in exploring various means to move forward and “unstick” yourself. This drives us in a partnership that serves your personal goals and individualized plan of care. A Rational-Emotive Behavioral approach to treatment allows you to confront self-defeating thoughts and behaviors and find concrete means to amend your existing “framework” for how you view yourself, others, and the world.
I became a counselor for many reasons. In particular, my “rough go of it” early in life lead to me dropping out of high school and getting my “butt kicked by the real-world.” These unique first-hand experiences taught me the value of an education and the benefit of having positive influences and direction when navigating great personal change.
I earned my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston and an M.S. in Counseling from the University of Tennessee. I’ve worked as a high school counselor, in a community based mental-health treatment facility with youth and their families, and as a clinical therapist in an adult outpatient psychiatric hospital. Now I’m eager to work with you.
Hello! My name is Hayden, and I am happy that you are embarking on the first steps of your therapeutic journey. Whether this is your first time seeing a therapist or you have been in therapy before, I want you to know that you are not alone. Seeking help can be intimidating and opening yourself up to another can be challenging. I strive as a therapist to make your therapeutic experience as safe and inviting as possible without any judgment. I promise I will actively listen to you with genuine interest, compassion, and empathy as we work together to accomplish your therapeutic goals. Therapy is about you, and my goal as a therapist is to support and empower YOU as you continue taking those steps to become the person you want to be.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (90733) practicing in the state of Texas. I received my BA in Psychology from University of Texas at Arlington and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, adults, and teens who have struggled with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, life transitions mood disorders, substance use, grief, and more. I primarily work from a Person Centered and Strength Based approach while also drawing from other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couple’s therapy.
I chose counseling as a profession as I too have struggled with my own mental health challenges. Seeking help and finding a counselor who supported and believed in me was one of the best decisions I ever made and I am grateful to have had wonderful therapists in my life that have empowered me along my own personal journey. Like the therapists that have impacted me, I believe that YOU are the master of your own life and know yourself and your experiences better than I or anyone else ever could. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to live your life, but to empower you to gain the skills, knowledge, awareness, and strength to make the changes in your life that you wish to see.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
